Return & Refund Policy

 

Because our parchment products consist of delicate natural materials and bespoke craftsmanship, our return regulations depend on the type of product purchased and your legal country of residence.

 

1. Custom Panels and Design Orders (Global Policy)

• Strictly Final Sale: All custom-cladded panels, custom-dimension hides, and bespoke design orders are completely non-refundable and cannot be returned or canceled under any circumstances, regardless of your country of residence.

• Under global consumer regulations (including Article 16(c) of the EU Consumer Rights Directive and the UK Consumer Contracts Regulations), goods made to a consumer’s unique specifications or clearly personalized are fully exempt from mandatory return or cancellation laws. Production begins immediately following your design confirmation and deposit.

2. Sample Packages

• We offer complimentary A6 parchment samples; however, shipping costs and any applicable taxes are the responsibility of the recipient.

• Larger sample sheets and full-hide samples are available for purchase. These samples are intended to help clients evaluate the material, color, texture, and finish before placing an order.

• If a bulk order is subsequently placed, the cost of purchased samples can be credited against the final order. Shipping costs are not refundable.

• Sample purchases are generally not eligible for return unless they arrive damaged or incorrect.​
   

3. Standard Artisan Hides and Vellum Sheets (By Region)

A. Private Buyers Outside the EU/UK (USA, Canada, Australia, Rest of World)

• Final Sale: For all private, individual buyers residing outside Europe, all sales are final. We do not accept returns or exchanges. We accept order cancellations for change-of-mind reasons within one hour of order.

B. Private Buyers Inside the EU, UK, Norway, and Iceland Only

• 14-Day Right of Withdrawal: Private, individual consumers residing in these specific European regions have a statutory 14 days from the date of physical delivery to request a return on standard, pre-cut, stock items only.

• Business-to-Business (B2B) Exception: Please note that European consumer protection laws apply strictly to individual private buyers. If you are purchasing as a business, architect, interior designer, or trade entity, you do not possess a statutory right of withdrawal, and all sales are final.
   

4. Mandated Return Conditions for Authorized European Returns

If you qualify for an authorized European return on a standard stock item under Section 3B, the following strict conditions apply to safeguard the material:

• Material Degradation Clause: Parchment and vellum are exceptionally delicate natural materials. To be eligible for a refund, hides must be returned entirely unaltered, uncut, and in their original protective packaging. Under consumer law, if an item is returned creased, water-damaged, stained, or degraded due to poor handling or inadequate return packaging, KareDeri reserves the right to deduct up to 100% of the item's value from the final refund.

• Return Shipping & Customs Costs: The buyer must arrange and pay for the return international shipping. The shipment must be fully tracked, insured, and sent directly to our return address in Brussels. The buyer is solely responsible for any customs duties, clearance fees, or import taxes incurred during the return transit. Any such costs paid by KareDeri will be deducted from your final refund. Original shipping fees are entirely non-refundable.
   

5. Damaged Items in Transit (Global)

• If your order arrives damaged during transit, please take high-quality photos of the external packaging and the interior items immediately.

• Contact us at fahire@karederi.com  within 48 hours of delivery. This allows us to immediately file a claim with the international courier and arrange a prompt replacement for you. Natural variations in color, texture, thickness, or natural markings are inherent characteristics of genuine artisan hides and do not constitute product defects or transit damage.
