Who are we?

Kare Parchment & Leather was founded in 2004. We are based in Istanbul with representatives in Belgium and Russia.

We manufacture quality parchment skins for a wide range of applications including wall and furniture coverings, art canvases, calligraphy supports, book binding, light fixtures and more. We also produce parchment and leather bags and souvenirs. Our gift items are sold at many European and Turkish museums, including Magritte Museum in Brussels, Russian State Museums in St. Petersburg,  Sakip Sabancı Museum, Topkapi Palace and Hagia Sophia in Istanbul.

Since 2010, we have expanded our business internationally, providing handbags to boutiques in Pavia and Capri (Italy), Melbourne (Australia) and Nuremberg (Germany), as well as selling parchment skins to companies in the U.K., Germany, Italy, U.S. and Japan.

For Kare founders, leather making is a family tradition going back several generations to their grandfathers’ time in the Balkans. They dedicate their time reviving this ancient material and expanding its use in contemporary applications.
